Audrey Mestdagh is a jewellery label from France
Inspired by the Primitive Arts, architecture and design, the brand tries to express the symbol of harmony between body and mind. More than purely aesthetic creations, it’s the love of material, technique and minimalism that are the central elements of a slow and meticulous process of creation.
Respect for noble materials, respect for the material and the hand that shapes it, guide a collection of sensitive and poetic creations. In this collection, the curve is highlighted, minimal and chic.
The brand has always adhered to the honesty of the hand-crafted process, hand-crafting each piece in its south-west workshop, making the most of French resources and the finest workmanship.
Welding, shaping, hammering, polishing or crimping, it’s the love of the aesthetic craft and technical processes that are at the heart of the brand, resulting in personal creations, delicate and original, pushing the limits of creative perspectives of design and art.
Harmony and serenity as my principles of creation: the jewel becomes talisman. I’m always inspired by the energetic and protective principle of Primitive Art.
My creations are minimalist and contemporary. Fabulous cultural, artistic and human treasure, the know-how is the key of my creations , where the hand and the gesture play a major part.
Always attached to the experimentation of material, as an Artisan I explore the possibilities of the jewel through my creations. From my designer skills, I keep the taste of volumes and curves, that I extremely work in each creation, to obtain a perfect balanced line.
My favorite piece is The Koro and Kioa Rings. Simple lines, just a little twist to keep the curve and the line in a minimalist way. A must have!
Each jewel is made of raw brass and gold plated in a 24 carats gold. After a long part of drawing to search the most minimal line, I try to keep the hammered effect on the metal, to reveal the passage of the hand, the beauty of the craft work.
Hard to not be a creative! It’s definitely in my soul, my heart belongs to craft work and my hands can’t be calm for long!
I love the morning, the light just coming in my Studio, my head is clean and I can be concentrate on my work, with a nice tea and folk music.
